2 PHD POSITIONS

The PITA group is an active, internationally
oriented research group with a strong focus on the flora of South-East
Asia. Our research facilities include a rich collection of living
plants in the botanical garden (collections with Orchidaceae,
Apocynaceae (Dischida, Hoya), myrmecophytic Rubiaceae, and carnivorous
plants) and the Herbarium collection which is one of the leading
collections in Europe and par excellence useful for anatomical and
molecular/evo-devo research (incl. ancient DNA lab), SEM and TEM
laboratories.

Requirements
University Graduate
You must have a
degree (drs./MSc) in Biology and have a strong interest and experience
in plant taxonomy preferably including molecular and or SEM/TEM
techniques. To obtain one of the available positions you have to write
a two A4 research proposal, based on the collections available in the
botanical garden and the NHN. As a person you are a driven and
self-confident scientist and you have excellent analytical and
communicational skills.
