Novel Supramolecular Materials based on Molecular Self-Assemblies

A postdoctoral position is available at Max Planck Institute Colloids and
Interfaces (Potsdam, Germany) (Prof. Helmuth Mohwald (Department of Interfaces),
Dr. Takashi Nakanishi) in the MPI-NIMS International Joint Laboratory, (started
since April, 2007), concerning the development and fabrication of novel
supramolecular materials based on molecular self-assemblies. The candidate is
expected to work independently and to conduct research in a highly
interdisciplinary environment. Experience in organic-chemical syntheses,
fullerene chemistry, molecular self-assembled soft materials (liquid crystals,
ultra thin films), colloidal and interfacial sciences, nanoscience or polymer
physics are welcome. The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in
chemistry, materials science or a related field. Research experience in
supramolecular assembly, organic ultra thin layers and self-organized materials
are preferred. Fluent English is mandatory. The position will be available
from January, 2008. We prefer the candidate applies to AvH (Alexander von
Humboldt Research Fellowship).
