Nottingham University Business School Scholarships

The School is offering the following scholarships to full time Doctoral students for the 2007/08 session:
Seven full Scholarships covering full tuition fees as well as tax-free living expenses of £12,608 per year (ESRC rate). One of these scholarships is being offered by the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR)Christel DeHaan Travel and Tourism Research Institute (TTRI). The Centre for Risk and Insurance Studies is also offering a full scholarship from the Agnes Hempsell Fund. All scholarships are available to both Home/EU and overseas students. Students who want to be considered for the scholarship competition should submit their application by 27th April 2007 at the latest.
Please note that applications for Nottingham University Business School Scholarships will be disregarded unless you have indicated, in the personal details section of the online application form (available at at https://pgapps.nottingham.ac.uk) or section 3 on the hardcopy postgraduate application form, where it asks 'how do you expect to pay for you studies' that you wish to be considered, i.e. you need to state 'NUBS Scholarship applicant'. School Scholarship applications will be evaluated on the basis of former qualifications, academic background, references and research proposal. All of the required documentation in relation to this must be submitted to us by the deadline.


University and other External Scholarships Home/European Union Students
ESRC Quota Studentship
The School has one ESRC 1+3 or +3 Quota Studentship to award for the 2007/08 session. Home/EU students with a good masters degree and/or a first class/higher upper second honours degree or a good masters degree are eligible to apply. For Successful applicants, the ESRC pays the student's tuition fees per year. In addition, for Home or EU applicants who have studied in the UK for 3 years or more, the ESRC pays tax-free living expenses of £12,608 per year. Successful 1+3 applicants will undertake an MRes in Business and Management (1+ element of the award) prior to commencing their doctoral studies (+3 element of the award). The deadline for applications for the ESRC Quota Studentship is 28th February 2007.

If you are unsuccessful in securing an ESRC Quota Studentship, your application will be forwarded automatically into the NUBS scholarship competition.

University Scholarships
The University offers a limited number of full tuition fee or stipend to the same value scholarships for 'non-UK' European Union students. For further information about these scholarships click here.


Overseas Students

There are several scholarships that international students (from outside the EU) can apply for.

Overseas Research Scholarships (ORS)
This year the University has been given 20 Awards. The Award covers the full overseas tuition fee and will be made for one year in the first instance but, subject to satisfactory progress, is renewable for a second or a third year. Only international students with a conditional or unconditional offer on a postgraduate research programme at the University of Nottingham starting in September 2007 will be eligible to apply.
